Rimfire Rifle Long Range Events

Somerset Open Competition

An open shoot usually held in April at the range of the Long Ashton & District Association at Flax Bourton, Bristol.
Course of fire: - English Match - 60 shots at 50 metres using the 3 cards system - to be shot in 4 Classes..

Gordon Chamberlain Cup and Medal.    Open Champion (Highest aggregate score).

British Cellophane Cup and Medal.    Ladies Champion (Highest aggregate score).

Baker Cup and Medal.    Highest score in X class.

Colborne Cup and Medal.    Highest score in A class.

Westland Cup and Medal.    Highest score in B class.

Britannia Shield and Medal.    Highest score in C class.

L.S. Powell Clock Tower Tray and Medal.    Highest score by a Junior (under 21 years at the time of entry).

Veteran's Tankard and Medal.    Highest score by a shooter who has reached the age of 60 years at the time of entry.

Boney Trophy and 4 Medals.    Highest aggregate for a team of 4.

Philip Mitchell Memorial Trophy and Medal.    Highest aggregate score by a competitor who is resident within the current Somerset shooting boundary (as recognised by the N.S.R.A.).

Handicap Long Range Shield and 4 Medals.    Highest aggregate for a Somerset Club team of 4.

Major Hutchinson Memorial Shoot

An open shoot usually held in Sepember at the range of the Long Ashton & District Association at Flax Bourton, Bristol.
Course of fire: - Double Dewar - 40 shots at 50m & 40 shots at 100 yards - to be shot in 4 Classes.

Silver Cup and Medal.    Highest aggregate score in each Class.

John Brown Rose Bowl And Medal.    Highest aggregate Ladies score.

Russ Shield and Medal.    Highest Aggregate score for Juniors (under 21 years at time of entry).

Astor Cup and 6 Medals.    Highest Aggregate score for team of 6 (from Clubs within the current Somerset boundary). The winners will represent Somerset in the final at Bisley.

Trophies are restricted to members of Affiliated Clubs within the current Somerset shooting boundary (as recognised by the NSRA.)
